almost next year, i want to take a picture

so i've got some ideas that revolve around the fact that i haven't done as much photography this year as i had intended to do. i love doing the photo developing at home, but it is quite time consuming and has certain temperature requirements (my makeshift film developing room is too cold right now).

so i'm gonna put out a call to everyone who has leftover rolls of film. at one point before the whole digital photography thing took over, people used to take pictures with real film in film-requiring cameras. some people are bound to still have some of this film sitting around in a box or a drawer somewhere - so this is directed to you.

if you have film sitting around at home that you've been meaning to use, but haven't bothered because you've got a digital camera and/or the cost of getting the film processed is less than awesome to you, let me know because i'd love to get my hands on it. the older, the better. i want to do some experimentation and sometimes the crappy old film gets the best results.

i prefer that the film be older than 6 months old (unless you really just want to get rid of it) - i'm kind of looking for stuff that's aged a bit.

if you're in the GTA, i may be able to come get it from you. if you're not in the Toronto area, drop me a line and maybe i'll work out some shipping details. hopefully i'll get a few responses, and i'll post the results of the old-film photography here.

keep in mind too that if you have friends or relatives that don't read this, you can pass the info along to them as well, just drop a comment here with how i can contact you for the film.

happy new year 'n shit eh!

comin' to get you

sometimes i wish my iPhone had a glare-reduction feature on it...

the smurf army is coming to take your life.
also, anyone who's interested in knitting, i'm in the process of launching a new web site - ManSpun Yarn. it's for men who think that current selections of yarn are too girly, or for women who have come to their senses.
the shop isn't set up yet, but every yarn you see is available for purchase and is handspun by none other than myself using only the manliest of techniques. you can follow the blog in preparation of the launch of the store.

total brutal

after over five months of waiting, my job actually seems to have purpose now. for the last four or five consecutive business days i have been getting assignments left, right and center for some of the most boring and stupid reports anyone could possibly imagine.

don't believe me? imagine a corporation saying "I'd like to know how much we've spent on Ford transmission repairs over the last six and a half years" and being serious, and that being your job.

but on a lighter note, i've got tuxedo pictures. first though, me looking concerned with headphones sticking out of my ears:

and me with a clean shave and nice looking duds:

almost doesn't look like the same person eh?

coming soon to a photo booth near you

although i didn't have time to watch more movies last night having two jobs and all, i did manage to find time to develop one of my rolls of film.

film you say? yes, that plasticy stuff that came in tubes that you used to be able to put in cameras that resulted in photographs being printed on paper.

well, i just did the negatives last night, and i don't actually have the equipment to print actual photos and shit yet. i do have to get my scanner hooked up so i can at least see the results. i think i left it in the developer liquid a bit too long.

i'm hoping to get a chance to do one more roll tonight, then scan the whole lot of them to see what turned out. in the meantime, i'm going to drink some tea.
